Philadelphia, Sept. 15th, 2014 - Sustainable Business as Family Legacy: SBN Welcomes a Third Business from the Kelly Clan
Three women, three sustainable businesses, three SBN members, one Kelly family. SBN welcomes The Wellnest, our newest member, and the third business from the entrepreneurial women of the Kelly family into our community. The Wellnest was founded by mother-daughter team, Dr. Maureen Kelly and Alyssa Kelly Boente, to “bring a set of therapies and expert practitioners under one roof to care for an individual’s mind, body and spirit,” a type of space they felt was missing from the traditional healthcare model. As of April, their center offers nutrition, massage, acupuncture, individual counseling, yoga, meditation and a variety of support groups both to individuals who want to improve their overall health and wellbeing and those seeking to manage specific health concerns.
Dr. Kelly's medical practice, Society Hill Reproductive Medicine, first joined SBN in 2010. Her medical practice continues to thrive as a center for reproductive medicine, infertility, gynecology and women’s health. Dr. Kelly has been named an America's Top Physician by Consumers' Research Council and a Top Doc byPhiladelphia Magazine, while her practice was voted ‘Best Fertility Clinic’ in Citypaper's Readers' Choice Awards.
As you walk into the entryway of both The Wellnest and Society Hill Reproductive Medicine, you will see custom-built counters made by Alyssa’s aunt and Dr. Kelly’s sister-in-law, Kelly Tryon Kelly, who runs Furniture From The Barn, also an SBN member since 2010. Furniture From The Barn’s furniture pieces are handmade from wood that has been reclaimed from the torn-down barns of the local area and hand-finished with natural products like tung oil and milk paint. Her company has been featured by Country Living as well as CNN and ABC.
Kelly’s college-age daughter, Caitlyn, is currently majoring in Business Entrepreneurship – we expect great things!
