Founding Team

Dr. Maureen Kelly and Alyssa Kelly Boente

Dr. Kelly and her daughter Alyssa founded The Wellnest in April 2014 to create a much-needed resource for all those seeking to make improvements in their health and wellbeing. They are driven by the belief that our society will greatly benefit from the creation of spaces that nurture the individual on both physical and mental levels.

Dr. Maureen Kelly is a leading physician in women's health and a longtime advocate for a holistic approach to health and wellness. As Medical Director of The Wellnest, Dr. Kelly both provides visionary guidance to the overall direction of the center as well as oversees the integration of The Wellnest’s services with clients’ medical care. She simultaneously serves as Medical Director of Society Hill Reproductive Medicine, a medical practice she founded specializing in women's endocrine health and infertility. She has served for over 20 years as a practicing physician, surgeon and professor at the University of Pennsylvania, Thomas Jefferson University, and Pennsylvania Hospital. Dr. Kelly has garnered numerous honors including the Consumers Research Councils' America's Top Physician and Philadelphia Magazine's Top Doc and Top Doc for Women.

Through founding The Wellnest, Alyssa Kelly Boente fuses her dedication to improving the wellbeing of others through her work and a long-held consciousness of health and wellness as life priorities. As CEO, Alyssa leads The Wellnest’s strategy, business development and marketing as well as manages operations and customer service. Prior to launching The Wellnest, Alyssa consulted for several startups and spent two years at social entrepreneurship powerhouse Ashoka, working directly with CEO & Founder Bill Drayton on global strategy and communications. In 2010 she completed a 200-hour yoga teacher certification in India. She holds a BA (summa cum laude) from the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters (highest distinction) from the University of Cambridge. She strongly believes in both entrepreneurship and taking care of one’s self as means for improving the world.

Brianna Eardley-Pryor, L.OM., M.S.Ac.OM., Dipl.OM.

Brianna is dedicated to working with patients as partners in their treatment plan and believes that each of us has a vital role in our own healing.  She is a graduate of the highly esteemed Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) in Portland, OR, where she also worked as a research assistant for a women’s health study at the Oregon Health and Sciences University. Brianna’s specialty is treating women at every stage of the reproductive years, and beyond. She has experience treating patients of all ages for allergies, anxiety, digestive upset, and pain. She is also trained in Tuina massage, a form of Asian bodywork, effective for treating musculoskeletal injuries. Brianna's patients enjoy the feeling of calm vitality they feel after her treatments.

Venus Jones, LMT

Growing up with parents skilled in a variety of art forms, Venus grew to see the beauty and uniqueness of hands in motion.  She found it easy to then gravitate towards massage therapy. 

Venus has been practicing massage for over 10 years and values the ongoing learning experiences she has through her practice. She likes to integrate multiple modalities of massage, including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, and Hot Stones. Venus is passionate about massage therapy and really enjoys being able to help people feel good.

Venus has worked at Rescue Spa in Philadelphia for 8 years as well as Ananda Medical Spa for 3 years. She is a Licensed Massage Therapist in Pennsylvania and received her training at Massage Arts & Sciences Center of Philadelphia in 1998.   


Erin Hadley, PhD

Dr. Hadley is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in working with individuals and families in the areas of anxiety, depression, grief and the overlaps among physical, emotional, and psychological health. Dr. Hadley received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Long Island University and completed her internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Pennsylvania Hospital, in the University of Pennsylvania Health System.

Heidi Lengel,  MMT, MT-BC, & Certified Birth & Bereavement Doula

Heidi received her Master of Music Therapy & Professional Counseling from Temple University in 2012. She specializes in perinatal music therapy including areas such as fertility challenges, pregnancy and birth wellness, perinatal bereavement, and maternal mental health issues. Her areas of research interest include medical music therapy program development and best practice recommendations in perinatal music therapy. She has presented her research and clinical work at regional, national, and international conferences, and has taught a variety of courses and workshops to healthcare professionals throughout the United States. Heidi is dually certified as a birth and bereavement doula through StillBirthday. She is a childbirth educator, leads the Philadelphia chapter of Climb Out of the Darkness®, a global initiative to improve maternal mental health, and offers pro bono services to at-risk youth through PALS (Philadelphia Alliance for Labor Support). Heidi is the owner and director of Fulheart Family Support.


Katie Gill, RD, CHHC

Katie Gill is a Registered Dietitian and Licensed Nutritionist in Pennsylvania. She earned her Bachelor's of Science from the University of Rhode Island and completed her dietetic internship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA. After passing the dietitian registration exam, she moved to Philadelphia in 2013. Since then Katie has gained a unique range of experiences at various hospitals, community centers and clinical research trials. She leads group diabetes and weight management nutrition classes, counsels patients one-on-one and teaches group cooking classes. She took additional courses on motivational interviewing, chronic disease management, weight loss and healthy eating. Katie became certified as a Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition Health in 2017. 

"My vision now is to create a healthier Philadelphia, country and planet by reducing the rate of diet-related chronic diseases, such as, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes and obesity. I am working to help empower and motivate people with the knowledge and practical skills to nourish their body and become the healthiest version of themselves. I do not believe that one diet fits all. I do whole heartedly believe in the power of real, wholesome and fresh foods that make you look and feel amazing."


Melissa Henkin, CHHC, RYT

Melissa Henkin is a Certified Holistic Nutrition and Wellness Coach. She received her nutrition training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) and is currently pursuing her Masters Degree in Applied Nutrition from Northeastern University, to be completed in 2017. Melissa holds a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Binghamton University. As a Nutrition and Wellness Coach, Melissa helps individuals achieve their health and lifestyle goals by making simple food and lifestyle upgrades.  She supports her clients in improving their diets through real foods, creating healthier habits, reducing stress and increasing energy, and finding balance in their busy schedules. Melissa is also a Registered Yoga Instructor and received her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) from Dhyana Yoga along with additional intensive trainings with CorePower Yoga in Philadelphia.  

Leslie Neri, CHHC, RYT

Leslie is a Certified Holistic Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition specializing in women’s health. Her own battle with endometriosis led her to study and share the healing properties of food. She believes that food is our first medicine, that real food changes everything, and that there’s no one size fits all when it comes to diet. She teaches her clients to build a new, healthy relationship with food and to find the nourishment that best supports their unique individualized health plan. Outside of work you’ll find her spending time with her husband, son and two dogs, practicing yoga, gardening or planning her next travel destination.

Abby Wetzel, MS, RD, LDN

Abby is a Registered Dietitian and Licensed Nutritionist in Pennsylvania. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Pennsylvania State University in Nutritional Sciences and Master of Science Degree in Nutritional Sciences from SUNY Buffalo.

Most recently, Abby served as a Dietitian at Mercy Suburban Hospital in both outpatient and inpatient units. Prior to this role, she served as Clinical Dietitian at George Washington University Hospital on the Oncology, Stroke, and Orthopedic surgery units, Sports Nutritionist at George Washington University, and Outpatient Dietitian at Orthopedic & Sports Physical Therapy where her counseling focused on sports nutrition, weight management, diabetes nutrition therapy, and PCOS nutrition therapy.

Abby is a former Division 1 Athlete and has worked with athletes at Penn State University. She has a passion for both weight management counseling and sports nutrition.  She resides in Philadelphia and enjoys exercising, any excuse to be outdoors, and cheering for her favorite sports teams.

Yoga & Meditation

Maiga Milbourne, E-RYT

Passionate about healthy bodies, relationships, and communities, Maiga has been creatively engaging in yoga for the majority of her life. In 2010 she was certified to teach yoga at Yogawood. She subsequently gained certification to teach yoga to kids. After completing 1,000 hours of teaching in August of 2012, she became an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) by the Yoga Alliance. Maiga's ongoing education has emphasized safe, consent-based, informative adjusts and assists. Maiga trains other yoga instructors, leads and develops domestic and international retreats, is a creative writer, is developing a permaculture-influenced farm in her suburban backyard, and Officiates ceremony.

Julia Nawrocki, RYT

Julia offers a vigorous, lighthearted practice to enliven the body, quiet the mind, and tap into a deeper sense of connection through yoga philosophy, music, and mythology. A lifelong equestrian, Julia began practicing yoga in 2002. She followed the thread of yoga across a broad territory, including practicing classical hatha, Kripalu, and many flavors of vinyasa, before it lead her to Yogawood, where she completed the studio's 200-hour, Jivamukti-influenced vinyasa teacher training and is currently pursuing her 500-hour certification. Always a student first, she’s grateful to support students in steady, consistent, and joyful practice, on and off the mat.

Lisa Bollwage, RYT

As a licensed Social Worker and certified yoga teacher, Lisa is passionate about helping clients find their life’s balance. Lisa began practicing yoga in 2010 while living in Philadelphia and graduated Yogawood’s teacher training in 2015. She is excited to provide a space for students to find happiness and ease in their practice both on the mat and outside of the studio.
