We know it’s important to make quiet time for ourselves, but sometimes it’s hard to know how to use that time to maximize its potential for relaxation. The practice of meditation is one of the ways to do so. Through meditation, we work towards relaxing fully into the moment and releasing ourselves from the thoughts that occupy our minds processing the past and planning into the future. In the Introduction to Meditation workshop, we will learn some basic skills to use on a daily basis to really, truly relax, even if it’s just for 5 minutes at a time. The class will cover a few techniques, including visualization, body-scanning and progressive relaxation.
